Lead Civil/Structural Engineer

About the role

Wood is recruiting a Lead Civil/Structural Engineer for its UAE Business Unit. This is a full‑time, office‑based position in Sharjah with occasional business trips, supporting complex upstream and mid‑stream oil and gas projects in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Define and approve technical scopes, ensuring alignment with project aims and outcomes.
• Execute assigned scopes of work, supervising complex engineering tasks and delivering high‑quality deliverables.
• Provide technical expertise and act as Technical Authority on projects, guiding design reviews and engineering solutions.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, coordinate design implementation, and oversee technical bid evaluations for subcontracted scopes.
• Contribute to business growth through client engagement, relationship building, and identifying new opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 180 months (15 years) of civil/structural engineering experience, preferably in oil & gas upstream or mid‑stream projects.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise multidisciplinary teams and act as a technical specialist.
• Strong judgment in developing practical, economical engineering solutions and managing project risk.
