Lead Mechanical Engineer – HVAC (Greenfield Projects)

About the role

Lead and manage all HVAC engineering activities for ADNOC offshore greenfield projects, covering concept through start‑up. The role ensures HVAC systems are safe, energy‑efficient and compliant with ADNOC Offshore standards and international codes for a range of offshore facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for HVAC design, supervise engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop design basis, perform load and pressurization calculations, size equipment and produce layout, ducting and control system drawings.
• Review and approve specifications, datasheets and vendor documents for AHUs, chillers, fans, pressurization units and hazardous‑area equipment.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC Offshore, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, API, ISO and IEC standards and participate in HAZID/HAZOP and safety reviews.
• Support procurement, vendor evaluation, FAT/SAT witnessing and provide engineering assistance during fabrication, construction, commissioning and start‑up.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of mechanical/HVAC experience with at least 5 years in a lead role on major oil‑and‑gas offshore greenfield EPC projects.
• Proven experience with ADNOC offshore projects and GCC/Middle‑East environments.

Required skills

• Offshore HVAC design and engineering.
• Cooling, heating and ventilation load calculations; pressurization studies; equipment sizing.
• Ductwork, airflow distribution and HVAC control system design.
• Knowledge of ADNOC Offshore, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, API, ISO and IEC standards.
• HAZID, HAZOP and safety review participation.
• Procurement, vendor management, FAT/SAT witnessing.
• Construction support, commissioning and performance testing.
