Lead QA/QC Engineer

About the role

Wood is looking for a Lead QA/QC Engineer to head the quality assurance and control function on a major ADNOC offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The role will oversee all quality activities across engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning and hand‑over, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications and international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the PMC QA/QC function and provide senior quality leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop, implement and maintain the project Quality Management Plan and related procedures.
• Review and approve contractor QA/QC plans, Inspection & Test Plans, quality control plans and other documentation.
• Monitor EPC and subcontractor performance against contractual quality requirements and report KPIs to project management and ADNOC.
• Conduct quality surveillance, audits, inspections and assessments of contractors, suppliers and offshore activities.
• Manage NCRs, observations, deviations, corrective and preventive actions, ensuring root‑cause analysis and closure.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project controls teams to integrate quality requirements.
• Review vendor quality documents, manufacturing records, inspection reports and test certificates.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in QA/QC within oil & gas, offshore or large‑scale construction projects.
• Proven experience leading QA/QC functions on EPC or PMC contracts.
• Strong knowledge of ADNOC standards, international codes and quality management systems.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with clients, contractors and internal teams.
