Lead Quality Engineer

About the role

Wood Group is seeking a Lead QA/QC Engineer to drive quality delivery for projects based in Dubai, with occasional visits to client sites in Iraq. The role reports to the Quality Discipline Manager and is responsible for ensuring compliance with international and national codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and implement Project Quality Plans, strategies and objectives.
• Provide quality oversight of vendors and contractors, ensuring role clarity.
• Prepare quality estimates for QA/QC deliverables and inspect procurement packages.
• Produce regular quality reports and maintain the project management system documentation.
• Implement risk‑based audit programmes and conduct internal and external audits of projects and suppliers.
• Lead site quality surveillance visits and contribute to contract quality risk registers.
• Approve corrective actions, verify closure and facilitate root‑cause analysis of non‑conformities.
• Capture client feedback, monitor improvement actions and ensure robust criticality assessments.
• Review and approve contractor, vendor and supplier documentation, including ITPs and procedures.
• Control all quality documentation throughout project execution and close‑out.

Required profile

• Proven experience in QA/QC engineering within construction or engineering projects.
• Ability to lead quality teams and coordinate with vendors, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of international and national codes, standards and risk‑based auditing.
