Learning Support Assistant (Inclusion)

About the role

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant (Inclusion) to join our team at Uptown International School in Dubai. The role focuses on supporting students with special educational needs to fully engage with the curriculum and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers and the special education coordinator to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
• Assist students during classroom activities, ensuring full participation.
• Provide one‑to‑one support for learners requiring additional help.
• Monitor and record progress, sharing updates with teachers and parents.
• Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
• Work alongside other learning support staff and educational professionals to foster student development.

Required profile

• High school certificate or equivalent.
• Relevant training or certification in special education or learning support (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with special educational needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Patience, empathy and a collaborative team mindset.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEN and inclusive education practices.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies and resources.
• Ability to implement behavior management strategies.
• Organisational skills for planning and delivering IEPs.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
