Legal Affairs Specialist

About the role

The Specialist, Legal Affairs will provide legal counsel and strategic guidance to internal business units of Daman, the national insurance company. This role focuses on contract negotiations, dispute resolution, risk mitigation and intellectual property management within the UAE insurance sector.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Negotiate, draft and review contracts, legal documents and regulatory submissions.
• Support litigation matters, regulatory complaints and dispute resolution processes.
• Manage intellectual property matters, including trademark registration, maintenance and protection.
• Ensure compliance with UAE laws, regulations and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Maintain and organise legal case files, contracts and litigation documentation.
• Prepare and issue legal opinions on contractual, regulatory and business issues.
• Liaise with external counsel, judicial authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Communicate legal updates, risks and compliance matters to senior management.
• Participate in legal audits, regulatory inspections and compliance assessments.
• Implement best practices in legal governance, risk management and internal controls while safeguarding confidentiality of sensitive information.

Required profile

• Minimum of one month of relevant legal experience as indicated in the posting.
• Ability to work with internal business units and external legal partners.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
