Legal Assistant (UAE Automotive Sector)

About the role

We are looking for a highly organized Legal Assistant to support our automotive business in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will work independently on civil and criminal matters, handling filings, documentation and case coordination across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Federal courts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file civil and criminal cases before Dubai Courts, Abu Dhabi Courts and Union (Federal) Courts.
• Draft legal documents such as complaints, petitions, memorandums and powers of attorney.
• Liaise with court clerks, public prosecutors, police departments and other legal authorities.
• Monitor case schedules, hearing dates and deadlines using UAE e‑services portals (Dubai Courts e‑services, ADJD, Ministry of Justice).
• Maintain organized case files ensuring compliance with UAE legal procedures.
• Coordinate with clients for documentation, signatures and case updates, providing correspondence in Arabic and/or English.
• Translate legal documents when required and support trial preparation.
• Assist with licensing, notarisation and document attestation processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or Legal Studies (preferred).
• Minimum three years of experience working within the UAE legal system.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Union court procedures.
• Proficiency in Arabic (mandatory) and good English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• UAE driving licence is an advantage.

Required skills

• Familiarity with UAE court e‑services platforms.
• Understanding of public prosecution procedures and criminal case documentation.
• Knowledge of UAE laws related to company formation, contracts, labour and tenancy matters.
