Legal Counsel - Commercial & Technology

About the role

This newly created Legal Counsel position reports to the Head of Legal and supports a fast‑growing technology organisation. The role blends hands‑on commercial contract advisory with the chance to improve legal processes and drive efficiency across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate SaaS, supplier, licensing and partnership agreements.
• Act as a trusted legal partner to Sales, Technology, Procurement, HR and Finance.
• Provide pragmatic, risk‑based advice to enable commercial decisions and new initiatives.
• Support corporate governance, internal approvals and maintain legal documentation.
• Contribute to compliance frameworks, policy development and regulatory adherence.
• Own and enhance contract lifecycle management, templates and legal tracking.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and legal‑tech tools.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 3‑6 years post‑qualification experience, preferably from a common‑law jurisdiction.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, ideally in tech or SaaS environments.
• Background in‑house or from a reputable law firm with strong commercial exposure.
• Ability to manage stakeholders and balance legal risk with business objectives.
• Experience in fast‑paced, scaling organisations and a hands‑on, adaptable approach.
• Exposure to process improvement or legal‑operations initiatives is a plus.
