Legal Counsel

About the role

Gutor, a global leader in UPS systems for industrial applications, seeks a Legal Counsel to support its growth across the Middle East, Africa and other regions. The role will act as a trusted business partner, providing commercially focused legal advice while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, supplier agreements, NDAs, service agreements and distribution contracts.
• Identify contractual risks, support contract lifecycle management, and maintain templates and negotiation playbooks.
• Manage day‑to‑day corporate legal and insurance matters for Gutor entities in the region, support board and governance requirements, and coordinate with insurers, external counsel and regulators.
• Provide legal support to local managers, assist with strategic initiatives, acquisitions, partnerships and dispute management.
• Support compliance programs, monitor regulatory developments, conduct legal risk assessments and promote legal awareness across business functions.

Required profile

• Law degree (LLB or equivalent) and admission to practice in relevant Middle East or African jurisdictions.
• 5‑8 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in commercial contract drafting and negotiation within the petrochemical, oil & gas or industrial sectors.
• Experience working in‑house or in a combination of law‑firm and corporate environments.
• Fluent English; Arabic, French or other languages are a plus.
