Lifting Engineer – UAE

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lifting Engineer to join the crane division of Aertssen Machinery Services in the UAE. The role is responsible for the safe and efficient planning and execution of lifting operations across diverse projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed lifting plans, perform load calculations, and generate method statements and AutoCAD lift drawings.
• Assess site conditions, ground bearing pressure, and select appropriate cranes and lifting gear.
• Conduct pre‑lift briefings, toolbox talks and monitor lifts to ensure compliance with approved plans and safety protocols.
• Inspect cranes, rigging accessories and ground conditions on‑site before each lift.
• Liaise with clients, provide technical input for quotations and tenders, and produce post‑lift reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of crane/lifting experience, with at least 3 years in a similar engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of BS 7121, ISO 9927 and UAE safety regulations.

Required skills

• AutoCAD and lifting‑planning software proficiency.
• SolidWorks (optional).
• LEEA Certified Appointed Person (optional).
• Ground‑bearing pressure assessment, outrigger pad selection and lift‑radius analysis.
