Malayalam Linguistic QA Specialist (Remote)

About the role

This remote, hourly contractor position focuses on ensuring the quality and consistency of Malayalam AI training data. As a Malayalam Quality Assurance Lead, you will evaluate AI‑generated content and trainer work, providing precise feedback to maintain high linguistic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated Malayalam content and trainer/QA outputs against detailed project rubrics.
• Provide written feedback in English, highlighting issues in accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural relevance, and formatting.
• Identify recurring quality problems, communicate updates to trainers and QAs, and support onboarding of new contributors.
• Maintain documentation of quality guidelines and monitor contributor performance, activating those with inconsistent output.
• Collaborate with remote teams to ensure adherence to client expectations and project timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Malayalam, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Malayalam with strong reading and writing abilities.
• Excellent command of English for following guidelines and delivering clear feedback.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Malayalam writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, annotation, or similar language‑review workflows.
• Deep understanding of Malayalam grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, tone, regional variations, and cultural context.
