Manager, Credit Governance & Control

About the role

The Manager, Credit Governance & Control will lead the in‑house governance function for the Credit team across all businesses and geographies of ADIB Group. Reporting to the Head of Credit Governance & Control, the role ensures underwriting processes comply with credit policies, regulatory requirements and internal risk standards. This position is open to UAE nationals and is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Credit Governance & Control in establishing a robust credit culture and processes.
• Establish and manage a Credit Monitoring Forum to flag expiries and past‑due items.
• Assist in implementing and managing the Risk and Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) framework.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and support cost rationalisation.
• Conduct event‑based reviews to assess process and policy compliance.
• Support the early‑alert process by liaising with product, risk and operations stakeholders.
• Provide input for the formulation of credit policies and product programmes.
• Prepare MIS reports and presentations for senior management review.
• Lead credit‑related projects and initiatives.

Required profile

• 15‑18 years of banking experience with deep knowledge of credit products, processes and services.
• Strong control mindset with proven track record in managing teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of credit lifecycle, banking operations, policies, regulations, compliance and risk management.
• UAE work experience of at least 5 years and familiarity with the Central Bank of UAE regulatory regime.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
