Material Engineer – Roads Experience

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Material Engineer to support major roads, infrastructure and bridge projects in Dubai. The role combines on‑site inspection, material verification and supervision to ensure all works meet project specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve contractor‑proposed materials and methods as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
• Maintain a daily material engineer diary and oversee daily contractor activities, including work assignments and performance.
• Conduct factory visits and supplier plant inspections; follow up on testing and approvals from relevant authorities.
• Evaluate contractor testing requests, review completed reports, and approve submissions.
• Monitor material delivery, verify accuracy of materials used on site, and coordinate schedule, sequence and method of work with contractor supervisors.
• Perform continuous field inspections and provide written/oral reports on contractual and procedural matters.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of experience in road and infrastructure material supervision.
• Proven ability to work closely with resident engineers, contractors and regulatory authorities.
