Mechanical Engineer – Fit‑Out & MEP Coordination

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support fit‑out projects within the DIFC and other UAE sites. The role involves reviewing contractor drawings, coordinating mechanical, fire‑fighting and BMS services, and ensuring compliance with DEWA, DCD and DIFC guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor drawings for DIFC projects and provide feedback according to DEWA, DCD and DIFC guidelines.
• Prepare landlord NOCs required for DEWA drawing submissions.
• Ensure timely completion of fit‑out projects by meeting deadlines and coordinating with contractors.
• Arrange meetings to explain drawing review comments and monitor authority design and inspection approvals.
• Conduct feasibility studies for MEP provision upgrades based on tenant requirements and site conditions.
• Coordinate CHW isolation and air‑balancing activities with the FM team and notify affected tenants.
• Provide site inspectors with instructions, corrective measures and oversee first‑fix and final inspections.
• Attend CHW & FF pressure tests, air‑balancing, and verify system performance.
• Witness testing and commissioning of Life Safety Systems and verify compliance.
• Prepare and verify mechanical and fire‑fighting scope of works, respond to RFIs and produce base‑built drawings.
• Conduct site walks, verify material compliance with DIFC standards and approve where appropriate.
• Follow up with the BMS team for utility meter commissioning and report non‑standard works to QHSE.
