Mechanical Engineer Lead – Data Centre Cooling

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer Lead – Data Centre Segment will be the technical authority for designing and delivering high‑performance cooling solutions for hyperscale and enterprise data‑centre projects in the Middle East. Based in Dubai, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams, clients and consultants to turn concepts into reliable, energy‑efficient installations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of innovative data‑centre cooling systems using Eaton’s portfolio and third‑party equipment.
• Provide mechanical engineering leadership for chiller plants, Air Handling Units (AHUs), fan‑wall units and facility water systems.
• Develop and implement hot/cold aisle containment, air, liquid and hybrid cooling strategies, including emerging direct‑to‑chip liquid cooling and Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs).
• Perform or support Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses to optimise airflow, thermal performance and Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) targets.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and business teams to ensure technical quality of quotations and successful project execution from concept to commissioning.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in data‑centre or large‑scale industrial cooling design.
• Strong understanding of thermal management principles and energy‑efficiency metrics.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
