Mechanical Engineer – MEP Construction Projects

About the role

Join ALEC Engineering’s FITOUT division as an MEP Engineer and play a pivotal part in delivering high‑profile construction projects across the UAE. You will work closely with subcontractors, consultants and internal teams to ensure mechanical, electrical and plumbing works are executed on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate design, construction, testing and commissioning of all MEP works.
• Develop project schedules and material submittal plans aligned with overall timelines.
• Conduct site visits, inspections and monitor subcontractor performance.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, technical clarifications and consultant responses.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Lead coordination among subcontractors, consultants and internal teams.
• Monitor progress, address delays and implement corrective actions.
• Support testing & commissioning activities and manage as‑built drawings, snagging and close‑out processes.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in MEP works and construction management.
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Previous exposure to large‑scale, high‑profile building projects is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Experience with testing and commissioning of MEP installations.
• Proficiency in reviewing drawings, shop drawings and as‑built documentation.
