Mechanical Engineer – Site Operations Support

About the role

Wood is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its UAE business unit. The role provides day‑to‑day mechanical engineering support for site operations, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver immediate operations support and resolve mechanical issues in collaboration with the site team.
• Assess and mitigate mechanical engineering risks, driving corrective actions within agreed timeframes.
• Define and monitor static equipment operating envelopes, investigate excursions, and track key performance indicators.
• Support technical Management of Change (MoC) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
• Identify production vulnerabilities and optimisation opportunities to meet forecasted growth.
• Write, review and contribute technical input to Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Provide coaching on static mechanical engineering to client engineers.
• Generate, revise and review technical documentation for the discipline.

Required profile

• BSc, BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional accreditation – Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.
• Significant experience in an operations mechanical engineering support role.
• Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards and regulations.
