Mechanical Installation Lead

About the role

Join Vanderlande’s Project Execution team in Dubai as a Mechanical Installation Lead, overseeing the installation, testing and commissioning of baggage handling and material handling systems at airport sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all mechanical installation, testing and commissioning activities for BHS/MHS systems.
• Act as the mechanical site lead, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule and in line with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Enforce HSE standards and promote the company’s safety culture on site.
• Manage subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams, guiding the preparation of method statements, risk assessments and work permits.
• Collaborate closely with Site Management, Engineering, Logistics and Procurement to optimise material flow and site execution.
• Interpret and verify engineering drawings and specifications to guarantee correct implementation.
• Identify, resolve and report day‑to‑day installation issues, supporting commissioning and testing activities.
• Monitor progress, produce regular reports and ensure compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a site‑responsibility role within airport BHS, material handling, intralogistics or industrial automation projects.
• Proven experience managing mechanical installation and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of international site execution, safety regulations and quality assurance practices.
