Motor Surveyor

About the role

The Motor Surveyor will join DAMANA’s Abu Dhabi office to carry out independent assessments of motor vehicle damage arising from accidents and other insured events. The role ensures accurate damage evaluation, repair cost estimation and technical recommendations to support fair and efficient claims settlement in line with UAE regulations and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct physical inspections of damaged vehicles and document all visible and consequential damage.
• Determine the consistency of reported damages with accident circumstances and assess severity.
• Prepare detailed repair estimates, reviewing labour, parts, paint and other costs.
• Evaluate garage quotations against market rates and provide technical recommendations to the Claims Department.
• Decide whether a vehicle should be repaired or written off as a total loss according to policy guidelines.
• Liaise with approved workshops, monitor repair progress and perform supplementary inspections when additional damage is discovered.
• Produce clear, comprehensive survey reports and maintain accurate claims documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum three years (36 months) of experience in motor vehicle damage assessment, claims documentation or related automotive inspection roles.
• Familiarity with UAE motor insurance claims practices and local regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical ability to evaluate repair costs and make objective technical recommendations.
