MYP/DP Spanish Teacher – August Start

About the role

GEMS World Academy on Al Reem Island is seeking experienced MYP/DP Spanish teachers to join its inclusive, IB‑focused community from August 2026. The role involves delivering high‑quality, student‑centred Spanish instruction within both the International Baccalaureate and British curriculum frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inclusive Spanish lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Collaborate with subject teachers to design strategies that promote access, progress and achievement.
• Use data to monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions.
• Foster a classroom environment aligned with the IB Learner Profile and GEMS Core Values.
• Contribute to school‑wide inclusive practices and equity initiatives.
• Engage with parents and the wider community to support holistic student development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Spanish.
• Minimum three years of secondary Spanish teaching experience, preferably in an IB or British curriculum setting.
• Strong understanding of the IB philosophy and Approaches to Teaching and Learning.
• Proven ability to inspire, support and challenge students.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and organisational skills.
• Availability to start in August 2026.
