Network Technician – IT Operations & Support

About the role

Wynn Al Marjan Island is looking for a Network Technician to join its IT Infrastructure team. The role focuses on installing, maintaining and troubleshooting the resort’s network cabling and related hardware to ensure reliable connectivity across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and troubleshoot structured network cabling, including fiber optic and CAT6 copper.
• Perform fiber optic splicing, termination, testing and certification for single‑mode and multi‑mode networks.
• Install and support network hardware such as switches, routers and wireless access points.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on network infrastructure and connectivity systems.
• Test fiber and copper cables using OTDRs, power meters and Fluke certification tools.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, test results and maintenance activities.
• Follow safety procedures and support network deployment projects across the property.
• Collaborate with IT teams, contractors and vendors during installations and upgrades.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in structured cabling, fiber optic installation, network support or telecommunications.
• Strong experience with CAT6 cable installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting and certification.
• Hands‑on experience in fiber optic splicing and termination of both SM and MM fibers.
• Ability to read network diagrams and installation drawings and perform corrective actions.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+ or FOA CFOT (preferred).
• Physically fit for field duties, including standing for long periods, climbing ladders, working in ceiling spaces and lifting equipment.

Required skills

• Structured cabling (CAT6) installation and certification.
• Fiber optic splicing, termination and testing (OTDR, power meters, Fluke tools).
• Network hardware installation – switches, routers, wireless APs.
• Basic LAN/WAN networking concepts.
• Reading and interpreting network diagrams.
• CCNA, Network+ or FOA CFOT certification (preferred).
