Ocean Freight Export (EFCL) Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Ocean Freight Export (EFCL) Supervisor to lead a team of Ocean Freight Specialists in Dubai. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality export operations, maximizing gross profit and ensuring compliance with service promises and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of Ocean Freight Specialists to execute export activities in line with GTOM, 1F1O and DHL Global Forwarding standards.
• Drive gross‑profit maximisation at the team level while improving productivity and service quality.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, identify upsell opportunities and conduct regular client visits.
• Ensure compliance with commodity‑specific and destination‑specific regulatory procedures, including customs documentation.
• Monitor operational performance, gather customer feedback and implement process improvements using DGF performance tools.
• Act as the first point of escalation for irregularities, coordinating with customers, suppliers and network partners.
• Conduct regular performance dialogues, Gemba walks and safety briefings to foster a transparent, motivated work environment.
• Support the achievement of ocean‑freight productivity targets and adherence to global standard processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising ocean‑freight export operations, preferably in a multinational logistics environment.
• Strong commercial mindset with a focus on gross‑profit optimisation and customer retention.
• Excellent knowledge of export regulations, customs documentation and commodity handling.
• Leadership skills to motivate teams, conduct performance reviews and drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyse operational data, identify issues and propose effective solutions.
