Payment Operations Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Payment Operations Specialist to monitor and optimise the performance of our payment methods across MENA markets. The role works closely with technology, support teams and external partners to ensure smooth transaction processing and support expansion initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily performance and availability of payment methods such as cards, DCB, digital wallets, Google Pay, Apple Pay and Open Finance.
• Identify and flag payment issues including failed transactions, dashboard errors, missing responses and abnormal trends.
• Support payment infrastructure readiness and setup activities for new markets and country expansions.
• Prepare reports and conduct basic analysis on transaction performance and acceptance rate trends.
• Coordinate with technology, internal support, PSPs, banks and other partners to resolve operational issues.
• Track integration activities, follow up on pending tasks and maintain accurate documentation and trackers.
• Assist with payment‑related projects, investigations and ad‑hoc operational tasks.
• Escalate critical or recurring issues to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Information Systems or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in payment operations, FinTech, e‑commerce or a similar environment.
• Familiarity with global and local payment methods, including card schemes, DCB and digital wallets.
• Basic understanding of payment processing concepts such as authorization, capture and decline reasons.

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Jira or comparable issue‑tracking tools.
• Basic knowledge of PCI DSS and payment compliance concepts.
