About the role
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, ensuring compliance with UAE and GCC regulations. The role involves managing payroll data, processing salary payments, handling deductions, and maintaining records in line with company policies and legal requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Manage accurate and timely disbursement of salaries, ensuring compliance with UAE and GCC pension regulations.
- Execute monthly payroll processes, handling advances, deductions, bonuses, overtime, and bank detail updates.
- Update salary changes, promotions, and other adjustments in the SAP system promptly.
- Ensure compliance with the Wage Protection System (WPS) and prepare files for government submissions.
- Reconcile payroll reports monthly, resolve discrepancies, and provide summaries for management.
- Prepare and submit government‑mandated reports, including pension contributions and labor law compliance documents.
- Conduct regular audits of SAP and other HR systems to ensure accurate reporting of gross payroll, time and attendance, vacation accruals, and statutory deductions.
- Provide payroll‑related documentation such as salary certificates, pay slips, and employment verification letters.
- Calculate End of Service (EOS) benefits and ensure final settlements comply with labor regulations.
- Manage leave administration, track balances, and ensure accurate system updates.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including educational assistance, housing loans, relocation allowances, and insurance policies.
- Collaborate with insurance providers for policy renewals, updates, and claims processing.
- Maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and government authorities to address payroll concerns.
- Partner with HR to keep employee records accurate and up‑to‑date.
- Coordinate with finance teams for payroll funding, bank transfers, and financial reconciliations.
- Develop and update payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Identify automation opportunities and work with IT to enhance payroll system functionalities.
- Support the Payroll Officer in executing monthly payrolls and provide backup during high‑demand periods.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Knowledge of UAE Labour Law and experience with business computing solutions, preferably SAP.
- Minimum of 4 years proven experience in a payroll role.
