Physiotherapy Assistant – Support Rehabilitation Team

About the role

The Physiotherapy Assistant works closely with physiotherapists and the rehabilitation team to ensure safe and effective patient care. The role involves preparing treatment areas, assisting patients with prescribed exercises, and maintaining equipment in a clinical setting in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and organise physiotherapy treatment areas and equipment before each session.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility activities, and positioning under professional supervision.
• Support patients in moving safely between treatment areas, wheelchairs, beds, and equipment.
• Monitor patients during exercises and promptly report any discomfort or safety concerns.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain physiotherapy equipment according to established procedures.
• Assist with basic patient and treatment record keeping.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment and help manage inventory.
• Provide general administrative support for appointments and therapy sessions.

Required profile

• Experience or interest in healthcare, rehabilitation, fitness, or patient‑support roles.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions from qualified physiotherapists.
• Good communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and staff.
• Basic understanding of infection‑control and health‑safety procedures.
