Planning Engineer – Marine & Port Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to lead the planning and control of large‑scale marine and port construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves developing detailed schedules, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery in line with client and authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and monitor detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 (and MS Project) covering all construction phases from mobilization to handover.
• Prepare cost‑loaded and resource‑loaded programmes, change logs, KPIs and EOT analyses.
• Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, subcontractors and authorities to align work with the baseline schedule and identify major risks.
• Produce look‑ahead programmes, progress reports, mitigation and recovery plans when delays occur.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify actual progress against the schedule and integrate authority NOC approvals, traffic diversion and permit processes.
• Perform delay analysis (Time Impact and Window analyses) and manage contractual correspondence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil or construction management) with at least 7 years of experience, including 5 years in planning roles on similar UAE marine/port projects.
• Proven involvement in at least two Abu Dhabi port projects within the last five years.
• Strong English communication skills and thorough knowledge of Abu Dhabi authority procedures and standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Working knowledge of MS Project and the MS Office suite.
• PMP certification (preferred) and Primavera P6 Professional certification.
• Experience with delay analysis techniques such as Time Impact Analysis and Window Analysis.
