Post-Doctoral Associate – Population Epigenomics

About the role

The Cornille laboratory in the Division of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks a post‑doctoral associate to lead population epigenomics research on plants. The role combines experimental work with advanced bioinformatic analysis to uncover adaptive genomic features and transposable‑element dynamics.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct population‑scale epigenomic analyses on plant material.
• Identify genes and epigenomic marks that have evolved adaptively or respond to stress.
• Investigate the evolution of transposable elements within a population context.
• Perform molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction and sequencing.
• Run statistical and bioinformatic pipelines to analyse genomic data.
• Develop an autonomous research line aligned with the lab’s evolutionary genomics interests.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and contribute to scientific discussions.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field.
• Strong background in evolutionary biology and bioinformatics.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Scientific creativity and independence.
