About the role

The Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks a post‑doctoral associate to contribute to its research in Arabic natural language processing, machine translation, and text analytics. The role involves developing open‑source tools, creating language resources, and publishing research findings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain open‑source NLP tools and language resources.
• Conduct research and publish papers in areas such as Arabic NLP, machine translation, and text analytics.
• Collaborate with lab members on projects spanning orthography normalization, grammatical error correction, morphology tagging, syntax parsing, and readability assessment.

Required profile

• PhD completed within the last five years.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computational Linguistics or related field with NLP experience.
• Strong programming and machine‑learning background.
• Demonstrated research publication record appropriate for a post‑doctoral associate.
