Vice President – Data Platforms

About the role

The Vice President – Data Platforms will own the Group’s data backbone, overseeing the platforms that ingest, store, model, govern and deliver data for analytics, AI and operational use across Aldar and its subsidiaries. The role establishes end‑to‑end accountability from engineering through operations, ensuring a self‑service, AI‑ready data environment that supports rapid business consumption.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the Group data platform architecture, covering ingestion, storage, modeling, processing and serving layers with a focus on scalability, security and cost efficiency.
• Own reliable, monitored data ingestion pipelines from enterprise and subsidiary source systems and set engineering standards for data products and automation.
• Implement platform‑level data governance, including cataloguing, lineage, quality monitoring and access controls, and partner with Information Security on data protection.
• Provide self‑service capabilities and clear interfaces for Group Digital’s Data & AI teams while enabling governed self‑service for business units.
• Ensure platform availability, performance and cost discipline through monitoring, incident management, capacity planning and FinOps practices.
• Build and lead the Data Platforms team, developing engineering depth and supporting Emiratization objectives.

Required profile

• 10‑12+ years of experience in data platform engineering or architecture leadership within large, complex organizations.
• At least 2 years of managerial experience leading data engineering or platform teams.
• Proven experience with enterprise‑scale data platforms, cloud data stacks, data governance tooling and self‑service enablement.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s preferred).
