Principal Systems Engineer – Actuation System

About the role

The Principal Systems Engineer – Actuation System will lead the design, development, integration and validation of actuation mechanisms for ADASI’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms. This role ensures that flight‑control, landing‑gear, payload‑deployment and other subsystem actuators meet performance, safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage system‑level requirements and performance specifications for all actuation systems.
• Develop and maintain safety analyses, interface control documents (ICDs), requirement traceability matrices and system architecture diagrams.
• Prepare design evidence documentation, including Design Data Packages (DDP), in accordance with DO‑4754 lifecycle standards.
• Collaborate closely with control‑systems, avionics, airframe and software teams to ensure optimal actuator integration.
• Validate actuation system performance through testing and verification activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• Master’s degree or specialization in actuation systems, flight controls or robotics is preferred.
• Proven experience in designing and integrating actuation mechanisms for aerospace or UAV applications.
