Process Engineer – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

Enerflex is seeking a Process Engineer for a six‑month fixed‑term contract in Abu Dhabi. The role involves using process design software to develop and optimise simulations, preparing design documentation and supporting project delivery across oil and gas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Use process design tools (e.g., Hysys, Flarenet) to optimise simulations for assigned projects.
• Prepare process design basis, description, equipment lists and data sheets.
• Generate inputs for PFDs, P&IDs and coordinate with drafters to ensure design intent.
• Perform equipment sizing calculations and other engineering calculations for piping, instruments, heat duty, etc.
• Develop operating and control philosophy documents.
• Conduct vendor inquiries, bid analysis and selection, and provide inputs to mechanical flow diagrams.
• Assist applications engineers on technical issues and evaluate equipment performance.
• Participate in HAZIP, HAZOP, SIL and other safety reviews with clients.
• Support resolution of field problems, warranty claims and design modifications.
• Collaborate closely with project management, engineering and manufacturing teams.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Design experience with gas and liquids production equipment (separators, dehydration, sweetening, glycol regeneration, refrigeration, cryogenic plants).
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and occasional travel to remote sites.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
