Procurement Officer – Chemicals, Minerals & Fertilizers

About the role

The client, a leading chemical trading company, is looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to manage sourcing and procurement of chemicals, minerals and fertilizers. The role involves close collaboration with manufacturers, suppliers and traders to ensure timely and cost‑effective supply.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure chemicals, minerals and fertilizers according to business requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate with manufacturers, suppliers and traders.
• Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities, lead times and shipping terms.
• Handle international purchasing and coordinate import procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with chemical suppliers.
• Conduct regular supplier follow‑ups to ensure procurement targets are met.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of procurement experience in the chemical industry (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of chemical suppliers and an established supplier network.
• Experience in supplier sourcing, evaluation, negotiation and international purchasing.
• Good understanding of pricing, MOQ, lead times, shipping terms and import procedures.
• UAE chemical procurement experience is highly preferred.
