Procurement Specialist

About the role

Khalifa University is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join its Procurement and Contracts department. You will support the acquisition of goods and services across the university, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders and change orders in line with approved procurement plans and budgets.
• Prepare requests for quotations and proposals, identify suppliers, and compare market offerings.
• Coordinate with local, regional and international suppliers and maintain accurate supplier records.
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve value, dependable service and timely delivery.
• Maintain procurement reports, price lists and quotation comparisons.
• Coordinate supplier evaluations with requesting departments and keep them informed about their requisitions.
• Handle urgent purchasing requirements and support procurement needs across departments.
• Follow procurement policies and procedures, including confidentiality, information security and workplace safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent.
• Two to five years of relevant procurement experience.
• Knowledge of vendor selection, product specifications, sourcing and contract management.
• Foundational knowledge of procurement planning, vendor management, inventory and logistics.
• Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) certification is an advantage.
