Project Director – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

WSP is looking for a highly experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of major, multidimensional infrastructure programmes in Abu Dhabi. The role carries overall responsibility for project governance, technical excellence, commercial performance and client satisfaction across large, multidisciplinary design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams on large‑scale infrastructure or building projects.
• Interface with senior client representatives, consultants and contractors, providing strategic direction and ensuring alignment with client objectives.
• Oversee development of design concepts, schematic and detailed design documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and sustainability requirements.
• Manage project plans, design schedules, budgets and resource allocations, coordinating architects, engineers and specialist consultants.
• Facilitate design workshops, value‑engineering sessions and stakeholder presentations.
• Implement design quality‑control procedures, monitor progress and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Accountable for timely delivery of contract obligations, meeting agreed timescales, budgets and applying project management systems throughout the lifecycle.
• Set project governance, identify design risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years (≈240 months) of experience delivering complex infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi.
• Proven leadership of large, multidisciplinary design teams in high‑profile programmes.
• Strong client‑facing capability with a track record of maintaining high client satisfaction.
• Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, regulated environment and drive delivery excellence.
