Project Director Rail & TBM Construction

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced and visionary Project Director to lead a large‑scale rail and TBM tunnelling project in Dubai. This senior leadership position oversees the project from conception through commissioning, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, quality, safety and schedule commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all project phases – planning, design, construction and commissioning.
• Develop, manage and control comprehensive project budgets and financial forecasts.
• Establish and maintain strategic relationships with government agencies, regulators, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners and support staff.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks through proactive analysis and contingency planning.
• Monitor progress against schedules and key performance indicators, ensuring timely delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years (240 months) of experience in large infrastructure projects, preferably rail and tunnelling.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Commitment to rigorous quality, safety and regulatory standards.
