Project Engineer – Fire Alarm System

About the role

The Project Engineer will lead the installation, testing and commissioning of fire alarm, voice evacuation and emergency lighting systems across commercial, residential and industrial projects in Dubai. You will ensure all works meet project specifications, NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defence requirements while supporting timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect installation of fire alarm components (detectors, MCPs, panels, sounders, speakers, fire telephone systems) and emergency lighting (exit lights, central battery systems).
• Witness testing and commissioning, coordinate with consultants and authorities, and verify system functionality before handover.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals and technical documents to ensure compliance with NFPA 72, UAE Civil Defence and local regulations.
• Prepare inspection reports, snag lists, progress updates and maintain records of approvals and testing activities.
• Coordinate with MEP contractors, consultants and internal teams, attend site meetings and support project engineers/managers.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience with fire alarm, voice evacuation and emergency lighting systems, preferably on UAE/GCC projects.
• Valid UAE driving licence.

Required skills

• Fire alarm control panels, smoke & heat detectors, manual call points.
• Voice evacuation speakers and amplifiers, fire telephone systems.
• Emergency exit lighting, central battery systems, interface modules (HVAC shutdown, lift recall).
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, BS standards and UAE Civil Defence regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
