Project Manager - Airframe Systems

About the role

The Airframe Systems Project Manager will lead all project activities from budgeting and planning through execution, monitoring, and delivery. This role bridges engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and program management to ensure compliance with aerospace standards while delivering projects on scope, schedule, and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables for airframe systems such as hydraulics, actuation, landing gear, fuel, and environmental control.
• Develop and manage detailed schedules, budgets, risk registers, and supplier performance metrics.
• Lead cross‑functional teams including design, procurement, finance, legal, production, quality and ILS departments.
• Ensure compliance with FAA/EASA certification requirements and defense standards (e.g., MIL‑STD).
• Support design reviews, testing campaigns, and production readiness activities.
• Act as primary liaison between engineering teams, suppliers, and senior leadership.
• Prepare and manage RFIs, RFPs, and contractual agreements with subsystem suppliers.
• Report project status to senior management and clients, managing expectations and contractual obligations.
• Apply project management methodologies such as PMI, Agile, and Earned Value Management.
• Drive continuous improvement in project execution, safety, quality, and regulatory adherence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 8–12 years of aerospace/defense project management experience with direct exposure to airframe systems.
• Proven experience on development programs and budget management using scheduling tools.
• Familiarity with FAA/EASA certification processes and MIL‑STD requirements.
• PMP or equivalent certification desirable.
• Excellent communication skills for executive and technical audiences.

• MS Project or Primavera for scheduling and resource planning.
• ERP systems such as SAP for project tracking and reporting.
• Risk management platforms for monitoring and mitigation.
• Collaboration tools like SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies (PMI, Agile, Earned Value Management).
