Projects & Operations Director – EPC Projects

About the role

The Projects & Operations Director will lead the delivery of multiple EPC and industrial projects for a well‑established UAE contractor. Reporting to senior management, you will be accountable for safety, schedule, cost, quality and client satisfaction across the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of concurrent engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning projects from award to hand‑over.
• Provide direction to Project Managers, Construction Managers, Project Controls and multidisciplinary teams.
• Approve execution plans, baseline schedules, procurement strategies and resource mobilisations.
• Monitor portfolio performance, intervene on delayed or high‑risk projects, and manage cash‑flow, invoicing and working‑capital exposure.
• Lead executive project reviews, resolve technical, commercial and contractual escalations, and maintain senior‑level client and stakeholder relationships.
• Support tender reviews, bid‑risk assessments, contract negotiations and project mobilisation.
• Develop succession pipelines for senior project personnel.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale EPC or industrial projects.
• Strong track record of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Excellent stakeholder management and commercial acumen.
• Ability to manage multiple high‑complexity projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Project execution planning and control.
• Budgeting, cost forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Procurement strategy and long‑lead equipment management.
• Mechanical completion, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and performance testing.
