Purchasing Manager

About the role

Sanipex Group is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead purchasing activities across assigned product categories. Reporting to the Head of Purchasing & Inventory, you will ensure optimal stock availability while delivering commercial value.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies that support business growth and inventory objectives.
• Analyse sales trends, demand forecasts and stock levels to ensure product availability while optimising inventory investment.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, payment terms, rebates, lead times and other commercial agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance, driving improvements in quality, delivery and service standards.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and prepare regular reports on procurement performance.
• Collaborate with Inventory, Logistics and Category Management teams for effective demand planning.
• Support new product introductions by coordinating procurement activities with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Monitor market trends, raw material costs and currency movements to minimise commercial risk.
• Identify and evaluate new suppliers and sourcing opportunities to strengthen the supply base.
• Visit suppliers and attend international trade exhibitions to build relationships and discover new products.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, working with IT to enhance procurement systems and processes.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Purchasing Officers, fostering a high‑performance environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a managerial capacity.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and drive performance improvements.
• Data‑driven decision‑making skills, comfortable analysing forecasts and market trends.
• Collaborative mindset, able to work across Category Management, Inventory, Logistics, Sales and Finance teams.
