Purchasing Officer Assistant

About the role

The Purchasing Officer Assistant supports the Fleet Supervisor in ensuring the smooth procurement and delivery of catering provisions for vessels worldwide. You will act as a liaison between ships, suppliers and internal teams, helping to maintain high quality, cost‑effectiveness and timely supply.

Key responsibilities

• Inform the Fleet Supervisor of complaints, non‑conformities and discrepancies and manage resolutions between vessels and suppliers.
• Review vessel requisitions and issue inquiries for quotations to approved suppliers.
• Analyze quotations, prepare recommendations and place orders for safe, economical delivery to ports.
• Evaluate supplier offers based on performance, pricing, quality, payment terms and past cooperation.
• Arrange transportation of catering provisions and consumables.
• Check invoices for accuracy and process payments.
• Prepare supplier comparison and benchmarking reports, maintaining performance records.
• Assist with monthly inventory closing and update vessel catering accounts.
• Support additional departmental tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in procurement, logistics or supply chain management.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving and multitasking abilities.
• Passion for the maritime industry.
