Quality Control Inspector – Coating

About the role

SGS is seeking experienced Quality Control Inspectors to carry out coating inspections on oil and gas construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves ensuring compliance with quality plans, documenting results, and reporting non‑conformances.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and execute on‑site inspection jobs for materials, equipment and construction activities.
• Issue quality records and prepare non‑conformance reports for the QC Supervisor.
• Verify conformity with the Quality Control Plan, review documentation, procedures and test equipment.
• Ensure implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan and verify special processes and worker qualifications.
• Perform visual inspections, dimensional tests and rating checks on power transformers, switchboards, batteries, lighting systems, RTUs, cables and related components.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years experience in the oil and gas construction sector.
• BGAS, NACE or Frosio certification; ADNOC approval in coating/painting preferred.
• Familiarity with engineering standards and codes used in QC surveillance for EPC projects.
