Quantity Surveyor Engineer – MEP

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor Engineer – MEP will manage all cost aspects of construction projects from early design through to final hand‑over. Working closely with project managers, contractors and clients, the role ensures projects stay within budget while delivering high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets based on drawings, specifications and historical data.
• Develop and maintain cost control procedures, forecast spend and track actual costs against the budget.
• Review and approve contractor invoices, payment certificates and variation claims.
• Analyse cost variations, delays or unforeseen expenses and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare regular cost reports, financial forecasts and final account statements.
• Perform quantity take‑offs for MEP and construction works and ensure accurate material and labour calculations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field; professional certifications (e.g., MRICS, RICS) are a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of quantity surveying experience on large‑scale commercial or residential projects.
• Proven ability to prepare cost estimates, manage variations, and close final accounts.
• Strong knowledge of contract conditions (FIDIC, NEC) and tendering processes.

• Cost estimation tools: CostX, Bluebeam, Buildertrend, MS Excel.
• Measurement standards: SMM7, NRM2, CESMM.
