Research Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Research Assistant to support clinical research projects within the Department of Family Medicine at United Arab Emirates University. The role involves participant screening, data collection, literature review, and assistance with manuscript preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with participant screening, recruitment, eligibility assessment, informed consent, and follow‑up.
• Collect, enter, organize, and verify clinical research data accurately.
• Maintain study documents, participant files, screening logs, consent forms, and regulatory records.
• Conduct literature reviews and support preparation of research protocols, reports, abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts.
• Support data analysis and creation of tables, figures, and study summaries.
• Coordinate with investigators, clinical staff, research participants, and other study team members.
• Ensure compliance with approved protocol, Good Clinical Practice, ethical requirements, confidentiality standards, and institutional policies.
• Assist with ethics submissions, study amendments, progress reports, and other administrative research requirements.
• Attend research meetings and provide regular updates on study progress.
• Perform any other research‑related duties assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or another relevant healthcare qualification.
• Previous experience in clinical research, data collection, literature review, and manuscript preparation.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and research ethics.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and protect confidential participant information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and research‑related software.
