Resident Engineer – Building Supervision

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead building supervision on a major project in Abu Dhabi. You will act as the on‑site representative, ensuring construction work meets design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship quality, and compliance with approved plans.
• Verify that all activities adhere to local building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
• Review and approve construction materials, equipment, and installation methods before use.
• Maintain comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, photographs, and correspondence.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless execution.
• Identify deviations from design specifications, recommend corrective actions, and track their implementation.
• Monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) compliance, reporting incidents or hazards promptly.
• Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to management and stakeholders.
• Manage site logistics such as material storage, equipment placement, and traffic flow.
• Conduct quality assurance testing and inspections on structural, mechanical, electrical, and other systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or similar role in building construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and HSE standards.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to make decisive decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
