Risk & Compliance Officer – Dubai (Legal)

About the role

We are seeking a Risk & Compliance Officer to join a leading international law firm in Dubai. This permanent position offers the chance to work closely with lawyers and senior stakeholders across the UAE and London, supporting a sophisticated global compliance function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client and matter onboarding, including KYC, AML, sanctions and due‑diligence checks.
• Support conflicts checks, risk assessments and ongoing client monitoring.
• Identify and escalate potential compliance and risk issues to the MLRO.
• Maintain accurate client and matter records and assist with regulatory reporting.
• Help develop and deliver policies, audits, compliance projects and internal training.
• Collaborate with business services teams and senior stakeholders in Dubai and London.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in risk, compliance or AML, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Law degree or GDL with legal‑sector exposure is preferred.
• Fluent Arabic with the ability to use it professionally for GCC clients.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a global team.
