Safety Officer – Water Infrastructure

About the role

The Safety Officer will oversee health and safety operations on water‑infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards while providing technical support to the construction team.

Key responsibilities

• Implement day‑to‑day health and safety procedures on the project site.
• Provide technical support and guidance on safety matters to all site personnel.
• Develop, monitor, and manage traffic diversion schemes in work zones.
• Maintain accurate safety records and generate activity reports for risk assessment and risk management.
• Ensure adherence to DM and RTA manuals and other relevant engineering standards.
• Participate in road safety interviews and pre‑qualification processes.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or Safety from a recognized institute.
• Minimum two years of experience in safety for network or civil construction projects.
• Valid UAE driving licence and excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA H2S awareness, basic fire‑fighting, and preventive medicine procedures.
• Familiarity with DM and RTA safety standards and traffic safety certifications (advantageous).
