Sales Engineer – Structural Steel Products

About the role

The Sales Engineer will drive new business and nurture existing client relationships for structural steel and metal products across construction, fabrication, oil & gas, industrial and infrastructure sectors in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new sales enquiries and acquire customers in target sectors.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate steel and metal products.
• Prepare, submit and follow up on quotations, negotiating price, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with suppliers and purchasing teams to secure competitive pricing and material availability.
• Monitor market prices and competitor activity to ensure competitive offers.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
• Work with operations and logistics to guarantee timely delivery.
• Track customer payments and resolve any outstanding receivables.
• Visit client sites, contractors and fabricators to identify new opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations, orders and sales activities.

Required profile

• Experience in structural steel or metal product sales is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret material specifications and engineering drawings.
• Strong customer‑relationship management skills.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and meet sales targets.

Required skills

• Knowledge of steel grades and standards (ASTM, BS, EN, JIS).
• Ability to calculate material weight and prepare accurate quotations.
• Strong understanding of structural steel and metal product ranges (MS, GI, SS, aluminum, beams, channels, pipes, etc.).
