School Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a qualified School Nurse to oversee the health, hygiene and wellbeing of students and staff in accordance with Dubai Health Authority regulations. The role involves providing first‑aid, managing immunisation records and promoting health awareness within the school community.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure students and parents adhere to immunisation programmes as per DHA guidelines.
• Monitor cleanliness and hygiene in the cafeteria, washrooms and swimming pools.
• Provide immediate medical assistance and advice to students and staff.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records of all students in line with DHA regulations.
• Establish and implement first‑aid procedures for accidents or illness on campus and during school events.
• Refer cases to the school doctor or hospitals, and inform parents and the principal.
• Attend student‑related activities on campus as required.
• Stay up‑to‑date with current medical practices and governmental regulations.
• Follow GEMS policies, procedures and code of conduct at all times.
• Participate in staff meetings and serve on committees.
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• Recognised BSc Nursing or 3‑year General Nursing Certificate with a valid DHA licence.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar school nursing position.
• Current, up‑to‑date knowledge of worldwide medical and healthcare practices.
• Excellent English language skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
