Secondary Arabic & Islamic Teacher

About the role

The school is seeking a qualified Secondary Arabic & Islamic Teacher to deliver the curriculum to secondary‑level students. The role involves planning, delivering and assessing lessons that develop pupils' knowledge, skills and cultural understanding.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Arabic and Islamic studies lessons that meet clear learning objectives.
• Set challenging tasks, clear targets and monitor progress for all pupils.
• Identify and support SEN and EAL learners.
• Use a variety of teaching methods, ICT resources and library materials to enhance learning.
• Assess student work regularly, provide feedback and maintain high standards of homework.
• Maintain classroom discipline, dress code and a safe, inclusive environment.
• Contribute to subject policy development and school improvement planning.
• Mark, display and present student work to a high standard.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Education with a PG diploma or QTS.
• Minimum two years of teaching experience at secondary level.
• Fluent in both English and Arabic.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and support staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding, health and safety and inclusive practice.
• Professional appearance with cultural sensitivity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using ICT tools for lesson delivery.
• Data management skills for tracking student records.
