Senior Accountant (Real Estate & Construction)

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant with a strong background in real estate and proven experience in the construction industry. The successful candidate will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare, review and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local tax regulations and other statutory requirements.
• Monitor project costing, revenue recognition and expense allocation for construction and real‑estate projects.
• Coordinate external audits and act as liaison with auditors.
• Develop and enforce internal controls, accounting policies and standard operating procedures.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analyses to support strategic planning.
• Oversee cash‑flow management and optimise fund allocation across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement and other departments to ensure accurate financial tracking of construction activities.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA, CMA or ACCA preferred.
• 5–7 years of accounting experience within the construction industry, preferably on real‑estate projects.
• Strong understanding of project accounting, cost control and revenue recognition principles.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Zoho Books or Oracle.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and solid analytical abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
